Jackals Loan Two To AHL

Stefishen Joins Adirondack; Shamanski Heads To Wilkes-Barre/Scranton

 

ELMIRA, NY - April 7, 2015 - The Elmira Jackals, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres and the AHL's Rochester Americans, announced that the club has loaned Taylor Stefishen to the Adirondack Flames of the AHL and Steven Shamanski to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the AHL.

Stefishen, 24, joins the Adirondack Flames for his second AHL call-up of the season. The North Vancouver, British Columbia native is tied for second among Jackals' skaters with 40 points (16 goals, 24 assists) in 58 games. Stefishen leads all team rookies in goals and is tied for the team rookie lead with 40 points and six power-play goals. The 6-foot-1 200-pound forward also appeared in four games with the Texas Stars this season and tallied his first career AHL point with an assist on December 20th, 2014 at Toronto. He was drafted by the Nashville Predators with the 136th overall pick in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

Shamanski, 25, heads to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton for his third AHL call-up of the season. The Carberry, Manitoba made his AHL debut with Rochester on October 11th and appeared in one game with Springfield on February 14th. The rookie blue liner leads all Jackals' defensemen with 14 goals and 38 points in 68 games played. Shamanski's 14 goals set a new single-season record for a Jackals' blueliner. The 6-foot 200-pound defenseman ranks third among all ECHL blue liners with 14 goals, which leads all rookie defensemen, and is tied for second among first-year blue liners with 38 points. Shamanski's also ranks fourth among all rookies with 16 power-play points. Additionally, he represented the Jackals in this year's ECHL All-Star Game. Prior to turning pro, Shamanski played four seasons at Providence College, collecting 36 points (11 goals, 25 assists) in 141 NCAA contests.

Additionally, the team has also announced that forward Trevor Gerling has been activated from the reserve list.
