The Jackals are facing the Nailers tonight for the eighth of 15 meetings this season, and third of eight at First Arena. The Jackals are 1-5-1 against the Nailers this season after falling 3-2 in overtime in Wheeling last night. The win was Wheeling's fourth in overtime this season and each of the four OT winners have been scored by a defenseman thanks to Myles Harvey converting on the power play. Elmira, meanwhile, is 0-2 in OT. The Jackals are 0-2-0 at home against Wheeling this year and have been outscored 8-2 in those games. An odd feature to the Jackals' season series with the Nailers is that the team that has been out-shot is 7-0-0. The Jackals scored on 23% (5-for-22) of their shots in the 5-2 win on Dec. 12 while Wheeling launched a season-high 46 shots on Maxime Clermont.

Elmira's effort on the penalty kill has been a major strength at home this season. At home, meanwhile, the Jackals are the third best in the league, second best in the East, at 92.1 percent, and their three power play goals given up on home ice are the fewest in the league. Elmira is 26-for-26 on the kill at home dating back to November 22 vs. Kalamazoo. The Wings accounted for two of the three home PPGs Elmira has given up that night. On the road, the Jackals are 16-for-20 (80%) on the kill in their last eight games.
