The Jackals are facing the Nailers tonight for the second of 15 meetings this season and second of seven at WesBanco Arena. Wheeling fired the opening salvo in the season series with a 3-2 win in the season opener here on October 18. Something will have to give, this week, when it comes to the Jackals' and Nailers' special teams. Elmira enters action this week clicking at 71 percent (15-for-21) on the penalty kill over its last four games (1-3-0). Wheeling, meanwhile, enters play dead last in the ECHL on the power play at three percent (1-for-33). The Nailers' lone PPG was opening night vs. Elmira. Wheeling's lack of production on the power play has its offense ranked 16th at 2.33 goals per game. Elmira's defense, though, is 18th at 3.25 goals against per game.

Since returning from Florida this past Sunday, the Jackals have added a pair of forwards to their arsenal. Keven Veilleux was loaned to the team from Portland of the American Hockey Leauge, and Jakub Culek was reassigned to Elmira by Ottawa from Binghamton. Veilleux, a fourth year pro, has averaged .67 points per game in his ECHL career (26 pts in 39 games) while rookie Culek has put up a pair of assists in three games with the Jackals.
