The Jackals are facing the IceMen tonight for the fifth of five meetings this season and the third of three at First Arena. Elmira is 4-0-0 against Evansville this season, which includes a 2-0-0 record on home ice. In the first meeting in Elmira this season Ludwig Karlsson scored with nine seconds remaining in regulation on Valentine's Day to crush the IceMen's collective heart. Jordan Pietrus added three helpers in the thrilling 4-3 victory. Elmira's win on Feb. 14 marked the first win at First Arena against Evansville since Jan. 11, 2013. All four meetings this season have been decided by two goals or less. These two teams have only met eight times in their ECHL histories with the Jackals holding a 7-0-1 advantage in the all-time series including a 3-0-1 record at First Arena.

With many junior and college seasons coming to an end the Jackals have bolstered the pack with some new faces. Troy Vance comes to Elmira from Charlottetown in the QMJHL. Vance was selected in the fifth round (#135) of the 2011 NHL Draft by the Dallas Stars. Joining Vance is goalie Chris Driedger who just finished his junior season with Calgary in the WHL. Driedger was drafted in the third round (#76) of the 2012 NHL Draft by the Ottawa Senators. Ryan Rashid joins the Jackals after completing his collegiate career at Niagara and Will Frederick signed with the club out of Clarkson.
