The Jackals are facing the Royals tonight for the 11th of 16 meetings this season and fifth of seven at First Arena. Elmira is 2-7-1 against Reading this season which includes an 0-4-0 record at home. Tonight is Reading's first visit to First Arena since Jan. 11 when the Royals scored twice in the third period to earn a 4-2 win. The Jackals have dropped five in a row at home against Reading dating back to March 10, 2013. The Jackals' most recent home win against Reading was nearly one year ago - February 15, 2013. The Jackals have won two in a row at home which marks the second time this season they have won consecutive home games. A win tonight would match their three-game home win streak from November 30 to December 8. Reading, meanwhile, has won three of its last five on the road and is 14-7-1 overall on the road.

Jackals rookie Dane Walters' season got off to a slow start as he spent the first two months on the 21-day IR. Once healthy and in the lineup he registered just four points (2G, 2A) in his first 14 contests. A two-assist effort on January 24 vs. Fort Wayne, however, sparked Walters' offensive game and he hasn't slowed down yet. Over his last nine games he is averaging a point per game (5G, 4A), and has produced some clutch goals. Walters netted game-winning goals in three straight games from Jan. 29 to Feb. 1 and is tied for the third most game winners in the ECHL (second among rookies).
