Previewing the Upcoming Week:

2/9 at Adirondack Thunder - 7:00 p.m. EST

Home vs. ADK 1-2-0, Away vs. ADK 1-1-0

The Jackals continue their six-game road trip with a visit to Glens Falls, NY to meet the Adirondack Thunder. This game will mark the sixth meeting of the year between the Jackals and the Thunder. The Jackals are 2-3-0-0. The Thunder won the first two meetings, 4-1, in the season opener at First Arena, and 2-1 in the first meeting in Glens Falls, on November 25. Ken Appleby made 60 saves across the two games and Louick Marcotte had three goals for the Thunder. The Jackals responded well, winning the next two meetings. On November 28, the Jackals won, 5-4 in a shootout, where Cason Hohmann and Jacob MacDonald had three point games for Elmira and Niklas Lundstrom made 44 saves for the win. On December 16, the Jackals defeated the Thunder 6-4, when Lundstrom made 31 saves on 32 shots in relief of C. J. Motte, and the Jackals scored on six of 16 shots, as Allan McPherson and Justin Kea each scored twice for Elmira. In the most recent meeting, Kent Simpson won a goaltending duel with Alex Vazzano, recording a 1-0 victory for the Thunder, on January 17. MacDonald, McPherson, and Kea each have two goals for the Jackals on the season series, while Clare, Langkow, and MacDonald lead the team with three assists. MacDonald leads the team with five points.

2/12 at Florida Everblades - 7:30 p.m. EST; 2/13 at Florida Everblades - 7:00 p.m. EST

Home vs. FLA 0-0-0, Away vs. FLA 0-0-0

The Jackals wrap up their season-long six game road trip with three games, in three nights, in Florida, beginning with two games against the Everblades. Florida leads the Eastern Conference with 63 points and a 31-13-0-1 record, including a 15-6-0-0 record at home. Matt Willows leads the Everblades with 16 goals, 24 assists, and 40 points, while Anthony Peters has a record of 18-9-0-1 with a 2.14 goals-against-average, good for seventh in the ECHL. This will mark the only two meetings of the regular season between Elmira and Florida. Last season, the Jackals lost three of four meetings to the Everblades, including the only matchup between the teams at Germain Arena. The Jackals have an all-time record of 8-11-0-0 against Florida. While regular season meetings have not been frequent, the Everblades are the most frequently played opponent for the Jackals in postseason play, as Florida ended Elmira's season in 2010, 2012, and 2013.

2/14 at Orlando Solar Bears - 6:00 p.m. EST

Home vs. ORL 1-0-0, Away vs. ORL 0-0-0

The longest road trip of the season for the Jackals concludes with the second, and final, meeting of the season against the Orlando Solar Bears. The Jackals won the first meeting of the year at First Arena, on October 30, in thrilling come from behind fashion. Orlando took a 3-1 lead into the third period, when former Solar Bear, Tyler Currier brought the Jackals within one, and Cason Hohmann tied the score to force overtime, where Colin Jacobs scored the game-winning goal, shorthanded. The Jackals lead the all-time series with Orlando, posting a 5-3-0-0 record in a very small sample size. Last season, the teams split the only two meetings of the season, both played at the Amway Center, in Orlando. This year, the Solar Bears have a record of 18-19-2-4, with only 42 points, which places them in twelfth place in the Eastern Conference. At home, it has not been any better, as Orlando has a 7-12-0-1 mark at the Amway Center, good for a league-worst, 15 points at home.
