A Look Back at the Jackals History in the ECHL
The Elmira Jackals joined the ECHL in the summer of 2007 and celebrate their 10th anniversary season this year. As part of the celebration, the Jackals will periodically look back at significant moments in team history from our time in the ECHL.
In today's "This Date in Jackals History" we go back to Saturday, November 14, 2009. That night, the Jackals set a team record by scoring 11 goals in an 11-3 win over the then Gwinnett Gladiators in Duluth, Georgia.
The Jackals raced out to a 3-0 lead in the first period, then scored four goals in both the second and third period to establish their team record of 11 goals in a game. Elmira took advantage of the power play throughout the night, going 3-for-8. They also got a penalty-shot goal from Wes Cunningham.
Eleven Jackals players recorded at least one point in the game, six players scored a goal and three players had at least two goals. Tyler Donati had five assists, while Justin Donati (4g, 2a) and Maxime Gratchev (6a) both finished with six-point games.
