Jackals acquire defenseman Campanale from Condors
Saturday, November 12, 2011The Elmira Jackals announced on Saturday that they have acquired defenseman Matt Campanale from the Bakersfield Condors in exchange for future considerations.
Campanale, a rookie who skated one game at the end of last season in the NHL with the New York Islanders, played in eight games with Bakersfield this season, scoring a goal to go along with four penalty minutes. The Chester Springs, Pa. native also skated five games under Jackals coach Pat Bingham with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in 2010-2011.
Prior to turning pro, Campanale played four seasons at the University of New Hampshire (NCAA, D-I), combining three goals and 21 assists for 24 points in 106 career games with the Wildcats.
The Jackals also announced on Saturday that they have placed forward Alec Kirschner on waivers.
