Jackals add forward Pietrus

The Elmira Jackals announced on Friday that they have signed forward Jordan Pietrus to a standard player contract. The Jackals host the Kalamazoo Wings tonight at First Arena at 7:35 p.m.

Pietrus, a 5'11", 180-pound second-year pro, skated in six games with the Trenton Titans to start the season, scoring one goal to go along with five penalty minutes. The Vermilion, Alberta native played his entire rookie season of 2010-2011 with the South Carolina Stingrays, scoring five goals and adding nine assists for 14 points in 63 games.

Prior to turning pro, Pietrus skated four seasons at Brown University (NCAA, D-I), serving as a co-captain during his senior season. In his collegiate career, Pietrus scored 18 goals and contributed 23 assists for 41 points.

Elmira has also added Matt Trusz as its emergency backup goaltender for tonight's game.
