Jackals add Favot, Lebler

The Elmira Jackals announced Wednesday that they have signed rookie forward Andrew Favot to an amateur tryout agreement. The Jackals have also been assigned rookie forward Brian Lebler by their AHL affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch.

Favot recently finished his senior season at RIT (NCAA, D-I), leading the Tigers with 43 points and 30 assists in 2010-2011. Last season, Favot was second on RIT with 46 points and 33 assists as the Tigers advanced to the Frozen Four for the first time in school history. The King City, Ontario native's 33 assists last season set an RIT Division I record. In his four-year career, Favot was second in Tigers Division I history with 130 points and 89 assists.

Lebler has two goals and two assists for four points with the Jackals this season. The rookie out of Michigan (NCAA, D-1) scored his first-career goal on Feb. 12 in Ontario. Last season at Michigan, Lebler set career bests with 24 points, 14 goals, and 10 assists and received the Joseph E. Barss award as the team's best player as determined by the coaching staff. He had been recalled by Syracuse on Feb. 21.
