The Elmira Jackals announced on Thursday that they have loaned defenseman Chris Frank to the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

Frank, a second-year pro from Western Michigan (NCAA, D-1), leads the Jackals with 87 penalty minutes and has five assists in 21 games with Elmira in 2010-2011.

This will be Frank's first AHL action since the Lynnwood, Wash. native played in 12 games with the San Antonio Rampage after finishing out his eligibility at Western Michigan in the 2008-2009 season, collecting one assist and accumulating 35 penalty minutes.

As a rookie in 2009-2010, Frank led the Las Vegas Wranglers with 165 penalty minutes and had a goal and six assists for seven points.
