Yannick Tifu skated around Jimmy Kilpatrick in the neutral zone and fed Justin Donati at the left point to start Elmira's first scoring play. Donati turned and fed Eric Lampe on the doorstep who knocked in the puck past the glove of Road Warriors goaltender Nic Riopel to give the Jackals their first lead of the series, 1-0, at 5:08 of the opening period.

Brendan Connolly slapped in a puck from the top of the right circle past the glove of Elmira netminder Jared DeMichiel at 12:05 on the power play to tie the game, 1-1.

Sam Klassen's drive from the left circle deflected past DeMichiel at 13:41 of the opening frame to put Greenville ahead, 2-1. Jackals coach Robbie Nichols substituted goaltender Marco Cousineau for DeMichiel with Elmira trailing by a goal.

Eric Regan's wrist shot late in the second period was stopped by Riopel, but Donati scored his second goal of the series by pushing in the rebound to tie the game, 2-2.

Early in the third period, Cousineau made a terrific right-pad save on Mark Voakes to keep the game even.

Following the midway point of the third period, A.J. Perry snuck a puck just under the cross bar from the slot to give Elmira the lead for good, 3-2.

The Jackals scored their first power-play goal of the postseason on a five-on-three opportunity when Tifu's pass banked into the net off of Riopel for the eventual game winner, 4-2, at 13:21.

With the Jackals holding onto their two-goal lead and Riopel pulled for an extra attacker, Mark Voakes lifted a puck in from the doorstep to bring Greenville to within one, 4-3, at 18:25.

Lampe answered right back for the Jackals to put the contest away by notching an empty-net goal. The Madison, Wis. native shot a puck off the post, collected it in the left corner, and then threaded the puck in from behind the net on a backhand to make it 5-3 at 18:43 of the third.

With Riopel pulled once more, Dale Mahovsky drove a puck in from the neutral zone to add to the lead and cap the scoring, 6-3, at 19:35 of the final stanza.

Cousineau earned the game's first star, making 23 saves on 24 shots for his first-career postseason win. Riopel suffered the loss, stopping 25 of 29 bids.

The four-goal third period was Elmira's first in the club's ECHL postseason history.

The Jackals look to take the series advantage on Friday at 7:35 p.m. at the BI-LO Center. Tune into the action beginning at 7:05 p.m. on 99.5 WOKN FM in Elmira, 102.5 WOKN FM in Corning, 98.3 WVIN in Bath, or on JackalsHockey.com.
