The Jackals went on their first two power plays of the contest minutes later, and took advantage of the latter attempt. Louie Caporusso pushed a puck in front from the right goal line, and with Dustin Gazley and Josh Brittain jamming away at the puck, Gazley was able to knock it in past Gladiators netminder Jeff Jakaitis, bringing Elmira to within a goal, 2-1, at 11:35.

Caporusso tipped in a Gazley feed in the left circle past Jakaitis, evening the score, 2-2, 2:42 into the second.

Craig Rivet buried a centering feed by Gazley at 15:08 of the final frame, as the veteran recorded his second goal as a Jackal to make it a one-goal contest, 4-3.

Jakaitis made 22 saves in the victory, earning his 15th victory of the season. Elmira netminder Timo Pielmeier stopped 22 shots, suffering his sixth defeat of the season.
