For the second-straight night, Artem Demkov scored Elmira's first goal of the game, as he charged the net and put a loose puck in from the crease just 37 seconds in to give the Jackals a 1-0 lead.
Riley Armstrong fired a puck in from the left goal line with the Jackals on the power play at 7:46 to extend Elmira's lead to 2-0.
The only puck that beat Pielmeier all night was inadvertently fired past him by a Jackal with Trenton on a power play to give the Titans their only goal of the night at 14:37 of the opening frame.
Mike Ratchuk's short-handed goal at 15:35 of the second period proved to be the insurance for the Jackals. Mike Radja entered the offensive end 1-on-3, delayed and then fed Ratchuk who wristed a puck past Titans goaltender Brad Phillips to put Elmira up 3-1.
Pielmeier was perfect the rest of the way, denying Trenton and earning a victory in his 2011-2012 debut. Phillips lost his first game with the Titans, stopping 30 of 33 shots.
The Jackals stay at home next Friday when they welcome the Florida Everblades to town. To purchase tickets, call (607) 734-PUCK (7825), visit the First Arena Box Office, or log onto JackalsHockey.com.
