Stewart assigned to Jackals
Tuesday, January 31, 2012The Elmira Jackals announced on Tuesday that goaltender Brian Stewart has been assigned to the club by its AHL affiliate, the Binghamton Senators.
Stewart, a second-year pro, is 15-6-0-0 with the Jackals in 2011-2012, posting a .915 save percentage and a 2.88 goals-against average. The Burnaby, British Columbia native was named the ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Nov. 28 - Dec. 4 earlier this season, the second ECHL weekly award of his career. Last season, Stewart led the league with a .927 save percentage and was named to the ECHL All-Rookie Team, playing primarily with the Bakersfield Condors.
This is Stewart's seventh assignment to the Jackals in 2011-2012.
