Lukas Favale Named New "Voice of the Jackals"

The Elmira Jackals, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres and AHL's Rochester Americans, announced today the team has hired Lukas Favale as their new Broadcaster and Corporate Sales Representative.

Favale will serve as the team's radio play-by-play voice for all 72 regular-season and Kelly Cup Playoff games in 2016-17. He replaces Jared Abbott, who was promoted to Director of Hockey Operations and Development earlier this week. Favale will also contribute to corporate sponsorship sales.

"I am honored to join a terrific organization like the Jackals," said Favale. "The team has a strong front office staff in place and I look forward to contributing right away. I know Jackals fans are extremely passionate about their team and I am eager to interact with them throughout the season."

Favale spent two seasons as Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations with the SPHL's Mississippi RiverKings, where he was on the radio during the team's run to the President's Cup Finals in 2015.

The Allendale, New Jersey native spent two seasons as a broadcast assistant with the AHL's Syracuse Crunch, where, among other duties, he called over a dozen games on the radio, including the the 2013 Calder Cup Finals between the Crunch and the Grand Rapid Griffins.

Favale spent three seasons as the play-by-play voice of the Virginia-based Alexandria Aces of the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League. He attended Syracuse University, where he studied broadcast and digital journalism.
