Jackals re-sign Kirschner

The Elmira Jackals announced on Friday that they have re-signed forward Alec Kirschner to a standard player contract. The Jackals host the Kalamazoo Wings tonight at 7:35 p.m.

Kirschner has played in seven games with Elmira this season, recording six penalty minutes. He has also skated in one game in 2011-2012 with the FHL's Danbury Whalers.

Kirschner skated with the CHL's Tulsa Oilers and the IHL's Flint Generals in 2009-2010, scoring five goals and contributing five assists for 10 points over 37 games.

The 24-year old scored seven goals and added 22 assists for 29 points in his rookie season of 2008-2009 with the IHL's Flint Generals.

Kirschner played collegiately at the University of Connecticut (NCAA, D-I) for two seasons prior to turning pro.
