The Elmira Jackals announced on Wednesday that they have signed defenseman Jarrett Rush to a standard player contract.

Rush, a second-year pro has skated the 2011-2012 season with the FHL's Brooklyn Aviators, recording 10 assists in 22 games. In his rookie season with the Aviators of 2010-2011, Rush posted a goal and 16 assists for 47 points.

Prior to turning pro, Rush skated three seasons at Curry College and one season at Manhattanville College, both NCAA D-III schools.
