Jackals re-sign forward Bellamy
Tuesday, November 01, 2011The Elmira Jackals announced on Tuesday that they have re-signed forward Rob Bellamy to a standard player contract. The fourth-year pro skated with the Jackals during their 2011-2012 training camp but was released just prior to the start of the regular season.
Bellamy skated the 2010-2011 season with the EIHL's Nottingham Panthers, experiencing his most productive season offensively as a pro. The 6-foot, 194-pound right wing scored 23 goals and added 32 assists for 55 points in 52 games with the Panthers in his third professional season. Bellamy skated his first two years as a pro from 2008-2010 with the AHL's Philadelphia/Adirondack Phantoms, scoring four goals and contributing eight assists for 12 points.
In four seasons at the University of Maine (NCAA, D-I), Bellamy and the Black Bears reached the NCAA Frozen Four twice, appearing in the national semifinals in 2006 and 2007. Bellamy, a native of Westfield, Mass. served as a captain in his senior year of 2007-2008 and scored 15 goals and notched 33 assists for 48 points in his collegiate career.
