ELMIRA, N.Y - The Elmira Jackals are gunning for their first back-to-back home wins of the season tonight when they face off against the Fort Wayne Komets. It's the first of seven meetings this season between the old United Hockey League rivals.
WHO: Elmira Jackals - Ottawa and New Jersey/NHL & Binghamton and Albany/AHL (5-10-2) vs. Fort Wayne Komets - Independant (7-7-3)
The Jackals are facing the Komets tonight for the first of seven meetings this season and first of five at First Arena. The Komets are the third North Division team to visit Elmira behind Kalamazoo and Cincinnati in the last two weeks. Elmira was 2-0-0 at home last year against Fort Wayne (2-1-0 overall) with back-to-back wins on March 22 and 23. Elmira is at the midway point of a five-game homestand (1-1-0) while Fort Wayne is starting a weekend three-in-three in the Atlantic Division. Fort Wayne has played only two road games in the last three weeks entering tonight's action while the Jackals are playing out a stretch of eight of nine games on home ice.
