DULUTH, Ga. - For the fifth straight year the Elmira Jackals are on the road to close out their regular season schedule. Tonight they start a three-game slate against South Division foes by paying the Gwinnett Gladiators a visit.

The Jackals are facing the Gladiators tonight for the second of three meetings this season and the first of two at The Arena at Gwinnett Center. Elmira has an 8-6-1 all-time ECHL record against Gwinnett, including a 4-3-0 record on the road. However, these two foes have not met in Gwinnett since Nov. 3, 2012. The lone matchup last year was played at The Arena at Gwinnett Center and resulted in a Jackals' 3-1 loss. Former Jackals Jack Downing and Brandon Blandina teamed up to score the only Elmira goal and Maxime Clermont made 25 saves. The only meeting this season came on March 17 at First Arena. Mike Vaskivuo scored in the third period but the Jackals fell 5-1. Ten of the 15 meetings have been decided by two goals or less.
The Jackals may be the northernmost team in the Atlantic Division (second most in the Eastern Conference behind Kalamazoo) but they have spent a lot of time below the Mason-Dixon line this season. They are 1-5-0 on the road against the South so far this year.
