ELMIRA, N.Y. - The Elmira Jackals announced today that they will be holding the largest public rally to date in support of saving the Monterey Shock Incarceration Correctional Facility in Orange, New York. The rally will take place at their home game this Saturday, at 7:05 p.m. at First Arena, against the Kalamazoo Wings.
Governor Andrew Cuomo's office announced in July of 2013 that it plans to close the Monterey Shock Incarceration Correctional Facility in Schuyler County in 2014. Two "Save Monterey Shock" rallies have been held to date, including one on at the National Soaring Museum in Elmira on October 26th that drew more than 200 supporters.
The Jackals are asking for the support of their fans to come together for this cause and make Saturday's game the biggest "Save Monterey Shock" rally to date.
