Elmira, NY The Elmira Jackals expect an exciting final weekend of the 2004-2005 regular season filled with award presentations, dramatic final games and star-studded NHL talent.

Friday night April 8th the Jackals will host the Adirondack Frostbite for a 7:30 pm face off at the First Arena. Prior to the start of the game the Jackals Booster Club will present its awards for Offense and Defense Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Most Valuable Player.

Also on Friday night the Jackals will hold the conclusion of the season-long Chuck-a-Puck contest sponsored by Hamptons Dodge Chrysler Jeep. During an extended 2nd intermission one lucky Chuck-a-Puck winner from this season will walk away with a 2004 Dodge Intrepid program care. Injured forward Carl Drakensjo is hoping to return to the Jackals lineup for the weekend games.

Sunday the Jackals will close out the 2004-2005 regular season at home at 5:00 pm against the red-hot Motor City Mechanics, who have won their last eight straight games. Sunday the Jackals will announce the recipient of the Star Gazette Player of the Year. The Next Mayor of Elmira, Eddy Lowe, also known as the original Jackal for being the only player to play in Elmira since day one of the franchise, will play in his final professional game.

For those looking for even more excitement, there is a strong possibility that some, if not all, of the Mechanics NHL players, Chris Chelios, Brian Smolinski, Derian Hatcher and Sean Avery will be in the lineup at the First Arena.
