Elmira, NY The Elmira Jackals announced today that last seasons captain Trevor Burgess will be in charge of the First Arenas F.A.S.T. Hockey program for the 2005-2006 recreational hockey calendar.

Along with his playing duties, Burgess, who ranks 5th on the Jackals All-Time Scoring List, will be leading this years F.A.S.T. Hockey program. The 2005-2006 F.A.S.T. program is designed to teach novice players the basic individual hockey skills: skating, passing, puck-handling and shooting. The program consists of six (6-week) sessions, each session consists of a one-hour on-ice practice with individual player instruction and evaluation. All hockey equipment is provided by the First Arena, participants only need to provide a mouth guard, an athletic protector and hockey tape.

I am excited to be part of hockey at its earliest stages, helping people enjoy the game as much as I do, said Jackals defenseman Trevor Burgess. I am hoping that I can help continue to build up the minor hockey program in Elmira.

Prices for the F.A.S.T. hockey program are as follows

New Participants: $65 per 6-Week Session or $115 for back-to-back sessions.

Returning Participants: $50 per 6-Week Session

The first session begins September 17th and runs through October 22nd. For more information or to sign up for F.A.S.T. hockey call - (607) 271-2212.
