Elmira, NY The Elmira Jackals and the First Arena would like to remind everyone that a press conference will be held at the First Arena today at 5:30 pm to kick off the selection of Elmira College and First Arena as the official hosts for the 2006 NCAA Division III Men's Ice Hockey Championships.
NCAA Assistant Director of Championships, Chris Schneider and Division III Mens Ice Hockey Tournament Chair, Chris Brown, will be at First Arena conducting a routine site visit on Wednesday, November 2, 2005. During the visit Schneider and Brown will be available to receive questions from the media in the Upper Level Restaurant of First Arena at 5:30 pm preceding the Jackals home contest vs. the Richmond RiverDogs. The 2006 championship will be the first predetermined championship site since the 1993 championship was held in Maplewood, Minnesota. The 2007 championship will be held in Superior, Wisconsin with the University of Wisconsin Superior serving as host. The 2008 championship will be held in Lake Placid, New York with the State University of New York in Potsdam and the New York Regional Development Authority serving as hosts.
Tickets for the championship at First Arena in Elmira, NY (hosted by Elmira College and First Arena) are currently on sale. com. Start times for the national semifinals are 12:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time on March 18, 2006, while the national championship is March 19, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Tickets for the three-game package are $26 for reserved seating and $23 for general admission seating.
