Jackals Returning Forward Jason Cassells
Elmira, NY The Elmira Jackals announced today that they acquired rookie forward Jason Cassells in a trade with the Richmond Riverdogs in exchange for forward Todd Grant.
Jason Cassells has returned to Elmira. The former Elmira College forward will once again don a Jackals uniform after a trade, which sent forward Todd Grant to the Richmond Riverdogs. The 59 195 lbs Toronto native first suited up for the Jackals during the tail end of the 2004-05 season, appearing in 7 games and recording 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists), while making his professional debut. This season Cassells has scored 13 points (5 goals, 8 assists) in 52 games for Richmond.
Cassells joins his former EC teammates and current Jackals Jarrett Konkle, Chris Mann and Craig MacDonald. He signed an ATO with the Jackals and made his professional debut on 3/19/05. He was fourth on the Soaring Eagles in scoring during his senior season (2004-05) with 24 points (10 goals, 24 assists) in 26 games played. He also led the team with three game winning goals. He finished his 4-year Elmira College career with 85 points (36 goals, 49 assists) in 92 games played.
Elmira will begin a 4-game home stand this Friday, March 3rd against the defending Colonial Cup Champion Muskegon Fury; a 7:05 pm face off at the First Arena.
