Tickets for playoff opener April 11th in Elmira on sale Wednesday
ELMIRA, NY The Elmira Jackals, proud member of the ECHL, announced today that their first round opponent for the Kelly Cup playoffs has been determined as the Jackals will face the Reading Royals in a best-of-7 series beginning April 11th at First Arena (7:35 p.m.) in Elmira. Tickets for the April 11th contest, the clubs first playoff game since 2004, will go on sale Wednesday beginning at 10 a.m. ticketmaster.com or charge-by-phone at 722-3711.
The Jackals clinched no worse than third place in the North Division with their 2-1 win Saturday night over Dayton. Reading accomplished the same fate by virtue of Johnstowns 6-5 regulation loss to Wheeling Sunday. The loss ensured that the Chiefs could finish no better than fourth in the division, cementing the anticipated playoff meeting between the Jackals and Royals.
Home ice advantage has yet to be determined with just three points separating second place Elmira (83) and third place Reading (80). Regardless of the final standings, the series opener is in Elmira April 11th while Game #2 takes place the next night, April 12th, at Sovereign Center in Reading (7:05 p.m.).
