The Elmira Jackals, proud member of the ECHL, won two of three on home ice this weekend to move up to third place in the North Division. The string of games that began on Friday started a 13-game stretch over 20 days.

Friday, Nov. 9th vs. DAYTON (2-0 W) Att: 4,187 (sellout) Shots: DAY 27-23 PP: 2/5 PK: 5/5

G JOEL MARTIN recorded his first ECHL shutout with 27 saves while the Jackals converted twice on the power play for all of their offense in snapping a two-game losing streak. RW LUKE FULGHUM made his Jackals debut with a goal and an assist and C BENOIT DOUCET added a goal in the win.

LW PIERRE-LUC- FAUBERT stunned the Condors in their first visit to Elmira with the winning goal with one-tenth of a second left in the third period. The Jackals let a 3-1 lead slip away in the second period before FAUBERTs goal averted overtime. RW LUKE FULGHUM continues to impress with a three-point game (1+2) and C KEVIN ULANSKI (1+0) and D TOMAS KUDELKA (0+2) extended their point streaks to three games in the win. G JOEL MARTIN won for the fifth time in six decisions, stopping 29 shots.

Sunday, Nov. 12th vs. BAKERSFIELD (2-6 L) Att: 3,487 Shots: BAK 36-23 PP: 1/8 PK: 4/8

A 2-0 first period deficit proved to be too much to dig out of as the Condors snapped a seven-game losing streak in the final game of their nine-game road trip. Elmiras modest two-game winning streak ended as special teams were the story in this one. The Jackals converted on just one of seven power plays while the penalty kill faltered, allowing four goals on eight shorthanded situations. D JON LANDRY scored his first professional goal while RW FRANK LITTLEJOHN notched a goal in his second straight contest.

This Week: Tuesday, November 13th @ Mississippi 8:30 p.m. Gulf Coast Coliseum

The Jackals begin their longest road trip of the season against the Sea Wolves. Mississippi has struggled out of the gate, winning just once in their first eleven games (1-9-0-1). RW LANCE MONYCH leads the Wolves with six goals and eight points. D GIO FLAMMINIO has a club best four helpers. G MORGAN CEY has carried the bulk of the work in net, appearing in ten games with a 4.16 goals against average and a .884 save percentage.

A trip to Beaumont begins a four-game season series between the clubs. Texas comes to Elmira for a single game February 14th. The South Division Wildcatters have just one regulation loss in their first ten games. They share the league lead in points (17) with Gwinnett heading into the week and are lead by F JOHN McNABBs nine goals and 15 points. He shares the ECHL lead in points with five other skaters. F MARCO ROSA paces Texas with eight assists while goalies ANTON KHUDOBIN (4-0-0-1, 1.61/.952) and PETER AUBRY (4-1-0-0, 2.79/.898) have split time in net.
