A power play goal by Bobby Robins with 5:05 left in regulation lifted the Elmira Jackals to a 4-2 win over Trenton Saturday night at Sovereign Bank Arena. The Jackals are now 2-0 on the season, leading the North Division with four points.

Robins wired a wrist shot past Devils netminder Jason Smith, squeezing the drive between the post and Smiths left pad to make it 3-2. A hooking call on Trentons Bill LeClerc set up the Jackals on the deciding man advantage as Elmira went 2-for-5 on the power play overall in the win.

The Jackals opened the scoring at 10:31 when Kevin Ulanski netted his first of the season, whipping home a Martin Sagat centering feed for a 1-0 lead.

Pierre-Luc Faubert struck for his first professional goal on the visitors first power play chance of the night. Controlling a Benoit Doucet pass from the right wing circle, Faubert snapped home a shot from the edge of the crease for a two-goal lead with 3:02 left in the first period.

The Devils countered late in the middle period as Eric Castonguay pulled Trenton to within 2-1 after two periods with his first of the year at 18:38.

Trenton tied the game at 2-2 just 3:31 into the final period with a power play goal from Joe Rooney.

Elmira killed off another Devils man advantage eight minutes into the third before the Robins strike put the visitors in front to stay.

For a second consecutive night, Scott May clinched the game with an empty-netter with one second left in the game.

The Jackals out shot the Devils 28-23 with Joel Martin stopping 21 shots to earn his second victory of the year in net for Elmira.
