Elmira, NY The Elmira Jackals announced today that they have acquired rookie forward Todd Grant from the Kalamazoo Wings as compensation for an earlier trade.
The Jackals have acquired rookie forward Todd Grant from the Kalamazoo Wings. At 511, Grant is the player to be named later that sent defenseman Mike Dombkiewicz to Kalamazoo on January 6th. In 21 games for the K-Wings this season, Grant has 6 points (3 goals, 3 assists) and 10 penalty minutes. The 25-year old Indianapolis, Indiana native was signed by Kalamazoo on 11/4/05 and made his professional hockey debut that night. Few players can claim to have debuted in hockey in a better way than Grant. He scored his first two pro points (1 goal, 1 assist) and finished +3 in his first every game with Kalamazoo.
Grant played 4-years of college hockey for NCAA Division I Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. In his senior year, 2004-05, he had 33 points (15 goals, 18 assists) in 37 games and added 62 PIMs.
