Elmira, NY The Elmira Jackals announced today the signing of three Elmira College seniors; defenseman Chris Mann and forwards Jarrett Konkle and Craig Macdonald.

The signings come in lieu of two key injuries suffered by Derek Campbell and George Pujacs in Friday nights game against Fort Wayne. Campbell suffered a laceration on the top of his ankle from a skate blade that struck him between the bottom of the shin pad and the top of the skate. Pujacs aggravated the ankle injury that had sidelined him for four games in February, the only games he has missed all season. Both players will be out for undetermined length of time.

Mann, the Soaring Eagles captain for the last three seasons, was described by Brost as a big, solid, gritty player who is able to make that first pass out of the defensive zone. He was 7th in the ECAC West conference in defensemen scoring this season with 14 points (2 goals, 12 assists) in 24 games played. The 60, 211 lbs Cornwall, Ontario native also had 79 penalty minutes and both of his goals came on the power play.

Konkle was the sniper on the EC Mens team. He led his team and the entire ECAC West in almost every offensive category including points (41), goals (21), power play points (21) and power play goals (13). At 61 210 lbs from Milton, Ontario he finished his Elmira College career with 125 points which puts him 26th on a very prestigious All-Time Soaring Eagles scoring list. Brost called Konkle a natural scorer, a guy who had good hands and has a knack for playing on the power play.

The Jackals are back in action Saturday, March 5th as they host the Port Huron Beacons, a 7:30 pm face-off at the First Arena. Elmira will also finish the weekend at home with a Sunday matinee at 5:00 pm against the Richmond Riverdogs.
