The Elmira Jackals and the Florida Everblades battle in Game 2 of the best-of-seven Eastern Conference Semifinals at 7:05 p.m. at First Arena. On Friday night, the Jackals prevailed in Game 1 by a score of 3-1, with Brian Stewart making 45 saves on 46 shots in the victory. The win was Elmira's first in its ECHL history in the second round of the playoffs. After going 0/13 on the power play in their first-round series against Reading, the Jackals wasted no time in their second-round battle with Florida in collecting their first man-advantage goal of the postseason, as Mike Radja scored on Elmira's only chance of the game on the power play on Friday 5:19 into the contest. The Jackals are now 1/14 on the advantage in the playoffs. Elmira had scored power-play goals in each of the final five regular-season games entering the postseason.
The Jackals denied the Everblades on all five of their power-play chances on Friday night, as Elmira's penalty kill is now 21/23 in the postseason. Elmira has been perfect on the penalty kill in five of the six games in the Kelly Cup Playoffs.
