Jackals announce roster moves

The Elmira Jackals announced multiple roster moves on Thursday afternoon. The Jackals host the Kalamazoo Wings on Friday and Saturday at First Arena, with both games starting at 7:35 p.m.

The Jackals have received forwards Louie Caporusso and Jack Downing on assignment from their AHL affiliate, the Binghamton Senators.

Caporusso, a rookie from Woodbridge, Ontario, has played in six games with the B-Sens this season and is still searching for his first AHL point. He has a goal and four assists for five points in five games with Elmira in 2011-2012.

Downing, a rookie from New Canaan, Conn., has an assist in 11 games with Binghamton. He skated with Elmira in the team's first two games of the season, notching two assists.

Additionally, forward Maxime Gratchev and goaltender Brian Stewart have been recalled to Binghamton. The B-Sens have also signed Jackals forward Riley Armstrong to a PTO.

Gratchev, a third-year pro from Novosibirsk, Russia has 11 points (5g-6a) in 12 games with Elmira this season. He skated in one games with the B-Sens to start the season and did not record a point.

Stewart, a second-year pro from Burnaby, British Columbia, is 3-2-0-0 with the Jackals in 2011-2012, with a .918 save percentage and a 2.95 goals-against average.

Armstrong, an eighth-year pro from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, has two goals and four assists four six games with the Jackals this season.

In another move, the AHL's San Antonio Rampage have signed forward Evan Barlow to a PTO. Barlow leads the ECHL with 19 points (9g-10a) in 13 games.
