Former Jackals Head Coach Takes New Reins
Elmira, NY The Elmira Jackals want to congratulate former Head Coach Todd Brost on being named the Elmira Youth Hockey President in a meeting Tuesday evening. Brost was elected as the successor to out-going President Mike Sincock.
Brost led Elmira to four playoff appearances in his five seasons as Head Coach and Director of Player Procurement, along with two trips to the UHLs Colonial Cup Finals. He posted a 170-151-38 regular season record with the Jackals, playing an instrumental part in the teams development and he was heavily responsible for the organizations presence in the community. As the Jackals prepare for their 8th season of operations, their first in the ECHL, Brost remains the only Jackals Head Coach with an above 0.500 winning percentage in both the regular season and the playoffs. Before coming to Elmira, Brost won back-to-back WPHL championships in 1997 and 1998 as head coach of the El Paso Buzzards and also won the WPHL Coach of the Year Award in 1997.

The contending field in the ECHL Playoffs has been narrowed to just four remaining teams looking to hoist the Kelly Cup. In the National Conference Finals, the Idaho Steelheads stunned the Alaska Aces by taking both games in Anchorage and grabbing a monumental 2-0 lead in the series. The American Conference Finals started off with a bang as the Dayton Bombers won a thrilling triple-overtime game against the Florida Everblades in Game One.
