In other news the Jackals announced that they have signed former Fort Wayne Komets goaltender Doug Teskey as their Emergency Backup Goaltender.

The UHL held a two-hour conference call on Monday afternoon arbitrating between representatives from the Jackals and the Komets before breaking for deliberations. Tuesday afternoon the League released their decisions, which included numerous fines and 4 different suspensions.

Jackals rookie defenseman Milan Maslonka took the biggest penalty, being suspended for ten (10) games and being fined an undisclosed amount. Maslonka was suspended for 3-games for his actions in an altercation during Fridays (12/8/06) game under Rule 29 (Supplementary Discipline) and suspended 7 games for receiving a Match Penalty during Saturdays (12/9/06) game under Rule 59.4 (Cross Checking). The 20-year old from Slovakia will be eligible to return to action on Friday, January 5th vs. Flint Generals at Peranis Arena.

Tidball is also suspended for the January 3rd, 2007 game versus Fort Wayne at First Arena.

Jackals right wing Chanse Fitzpatrick was suspended for two (2) games and was fined an undisclosed amount for his actions in an altercation during Fridays (12/8/06) game against Fort Wayne. Both the Jackals and the Komets Organizations were issued undisclosed fines under Rule 29 (Supplementary Discipline).

No Komets players or staff received a suspension, although Fort Wayne General Manager David Franke and center Bruce Richardson were both fined an undisclosed amount under Rule 29 (Supplementary Discipline).

In other news the Jackals announced that they have added goaltender Doug Teskey to their roster as an Emergency Backup Goaltender. The move came after recently signed goalie Dave Lemanowicz was placed on the 7-day IR subsequent to being diagnosed with pneumonia. Lemanowicz (pronounced Le-MAN-oh-vitch) was told by team doctors to avoid physical activity for the next ten days.

Doug Teskey, who works in the Jackals front office in the sales department, has not played a professional hockey game since the 2004-05 season, where he played for the Newcastle Vipers of the British National League. He was even named to the BNL All-Star team for his stellar play that season. Teskey, a native of London, Ontario, spent a majority of his 7-year professional career playing for the UHLs Fort Wayne Komets where he still ranks 2nd on the Komets All-Time Wins List (74 wins) and 4th All-Time in Goals Against Average (2.84) for Fort Wayne. He also played two years for the Toledo Storm of the ECHL and 4-years of Division I college hockey for the University of Alaska-Anchorage.
