WHAT: Jackals Home Game #11. Elmira Jackals vs. Florida, 7:05 p.m. You could be the lucky fan selected to come onto the ice at intermission and play to win free golf at Willowcreek Wednesday. Game broadcast on Gem 98.7 FM begins at 6:50.
The Jackals are facing the Everblades tonight for the third, and final, meeting this season and the only one at First Arena. The Jackals and Everblades are tied at one win each in the season series after splitting a pair of games at Germain Arena on November 6 and 8. Florida won 5-2 on the 6th but the Jackals roared back for a 6-5 win two nights later. Elmira last faced Florida at home on April 18, 2013 in Game 5 of their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series. The Jackals won that game 5-1 to force Game 6 back in Florida. The Jackals sport a 4-3-0 home record against Florida in the regular season, but haven't hosted the Everblades for a non-playoff game since a 3-2 win on March 17, 2012.
Danny Hobbs has four goals in two games in December after netting his first pro hat trick vs. Fort Wayne last Sunday. Hobbs tied his career high of four points in a game against Florida on November 8, 2013 (2 goals, 2 assists). Hobbs also hung four points on the Everblades as a member of the Greenville Road Warriors on February 2, 2013 (1 goal, 3 assists). He has seven goals and five assists in 19 games this season which lands him in third place on the team in points.
