ELMIRA, N.Y. - Tonight the Elmira Jackals play the second game of their longest home stand of the season (seven games) by welcoming the South Carolina Stingrays to First Arena. It is the first time this season Elmira has hosted the Stingrays.

The Jackals are facing the Stingrays tonight for the second of four meetings this season and the first of two at First Arena. Elmira is 0-1-0 against South Carolina this season, after a 2-0 defeat at the North Charleston Coliseum on New Year's Eve. Tonight is South Carolina's first visit to the Twin Tiers since November 24, 2012 - a night on which the Stingrays claimed a 5-1 win behind 39 saves from Goalie of the Year Ryan Zapolski and a pair of goals from current Jackal Daniel Koger. That loss moved Elmira's all-time home record against South Carolina to 3-5-1. The Stingrays enter tonight looking to turn things around after a loss to start their season-long six-game road trip while the Jackals are searching for a win after dropping the first of a season-long seven-game home stand.
After a two-point game (1G, 1A) last night vs. Wheeling, Hobbs has 15 points (6G, 7A) in his last 14 games with Elmira. He also averaged a point per game in his first career AHL stint with a goal and an assist in two games with Binghamton from Feb. 1 to Feb. 5. Hobbs needs just two points to surpass the 31 he posted as a rookie with Greenville last year.
