The Elmira Jackals kick off their longest road trip of the 2011-2012 season, playing the first of seven-straight games away from home when they meet the Trenton Titans at the Sun National Bank Center at 4:00 p.m. The Jackals are on a season-high four-game winning streak, their first streak of that length since Feb. 25 - Mar. 2 of the 2010-2011 campaign. Elmira defeated Reading at First Arena on Saturday night, 3-1.
With two tallies last night, Mike Radja stepped into the team lead in both points and goals. Radja scored in the first period to give the Jackals their first lead of the night, tying Evan Barlow for the club lead with 19 points and Artem Demkov atop the Jackals with 10 goals. The Yorkville, Ill. native struck again in the third period, putting Elmira up by two goals and taking sole possession of first place on the Jackals with 20 points and 11 goals.
Radja's first goal on Saturday was Elmira's first goal on the man advantage since Nov. 18, snapping a five-game power-play scoring drought. The Jackals had been scoreless on 18-consecutive power plays before Radja's goal. Elmira is eighth in the league at 80.2% on the power play.
