The Elmira Jackals enter the final two weeks of the 2010-2011 ECHL regular season in seventh place in the Eastern Conference standings at 71 points. The Jackals are currently five points inside of the playoffs, with the Toledo Walleye, the ninth-place team, currently sitting at 66 points. The top eight teams in the Eastern Conference qualify for the 2011 Kelly Cup Playoffs.

Elmira has three games at First Arena this coming week to close out its home portion of the 2010-2011 regular-season schedule. On Wednesday, the Jackals are at home against the Trenton Devils at 7:05 p.m. Elmira hosts Kalamazoo on Saturday at 7:35 p.m. and on Sunday at 4:05 p.m. at First Arena. The Jackals will hand out their annual team awards on Saturday night, including the Most Valuable Player Award of the 2010-2011 season. Sunday's game is Fan Appreciation Day at First Arena, and the Jackals will be giving away a variety of items to Jackals fans.

Elmira went 2-2 this past week as the Jackals started off with a 3-2 shootout win on Wednesday in Trenton, the Jackals' first shootout victory of 2010-2011, with Drew Paris netting the clinching goal and Marco Cousineau allowing just one goal on 10 shootout chances by the Devils. The Jackals won a back-and-forth game in Reading on Friday night, 8-5, with Yannick Tifu notching his second hat trick of the season to go along with two assists and Justin Donati also putting together a five-point game (2g-3a). Elmira then fell to Reading on Saturday night at the Sovereign Center, 9-2, before ending the season series with the Royals with a shutout loss on Sunday at First Arena, 2-0.

On Sunday, the Jackals signed forward Martin Moucha while releasing forward Billy Siers. Defenseman Matt Krug was reassigned from the Jackals to the CHL's Fort Wayne Komets by his contracted team, the AHL's Chicago Wolves.
