Friday & Saturday Home Games Will Start At 7:35 PM This Season
Elmira, NY The Elmira Jackals announced today the start times for all home games at the First Arena during the 2006-07 UHL Regular Season. Included is the Jackals schedule breakdown for the upcoming year.
There will be a time change in when the first puck is dropped for games at the First Arena this season. Face off for Friday and Saturday Jackals home games has been pushed back thirty minutes to 7:35 pm this year. Weeknight games (Monday-Thursday) remain a 7:05 pm face off and Sundays will begin at 4:05 pm.
2006-07 JACKALS START TIMES AT FIRST ARENA
Last week the Jackals and the UHL released their full 2006-2007 Regular Season Schedule. Elmira will open at home against the defending Colonial Cup Champion Kalamazoo Wings on Friday October 13th at 7:35 pm at the First Arena. The Jackals play their first three games of the season at home, October 13th, 15th and 20th, before heading out for their first road trip on Saturday October 21st at Port Huron.
The Jackals will play 76 games (38 home, 38 road) this coming season in the newly realigned 5-team Eastern Conference, consisting of the Port Huron Flags, Muskegon Fury, Flint Generals and Kalamazoo. The Jackals will venture out to all UHL arenas for at least two games each this season and every opponent will play a minimum of 3 games at the First Arena. Elmira will play 46 games (60%) of the schedule against their Conference rivals, most frequently with the Port Huron Flags, meeting 14 times (6 home, 8 road) during the regular season. They face off with Flint 13 times (6 home, 7 road), 10 games against Muskegon (5home, 5 road) and 9 games against Kalamazoo 9 (4 home, 5 road).
The Jackals are scheduled for 30 games (40%) against the Western Conference teams, consisting of 8 games with the Chicago Hounds (5 home, 3 road), 6 games (3 home, 3 road) against both the Bloomington Prairie Thunder and the Rockford IceHogs and five games (3 home, 2 road) against both the Fort Wayne Komets and the Quad City Mallards.
Elmiras longest stretch of home games this year is a 7-game block running from January 7th to January 21st. The Jackals will have some longer stints on the road; they have two 6-game stints away from the First Arena, their longest stretches of the season.
