Curtis Tidball (Left) Joins The Jackals For The 2006-07 Season

Elmira, NY The Elmira Jackals announced today the signing of right wing Curtis Tidball and defenseman Brendan Tedstone to contracts for the 2006-2007 season. They are the 6th and 7th players signed by the Jackals for the upcoming campaign.

Curtis Tidball, nicknamed Tigger, comes to the Jackals as a free agent after spending the past season in the Quebec Senior League (LNAH) with Thetford Mines Prolab. In 47 games in 2005-06, the 61, 211 lbs right wing recorded 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) and 309 penalty minutes, a career high. The 22-year old from Quebec City, Quebec, has seen action in the United Hockey League; he had 167 PIMs in 33 games for the Flint Generals in the 2004-05 season. In his 2-year pro career, Tidball has 483 penalty minutes in 83 professional games.

Curtis has played for me and was teammates with Coach Waltze in Flint, said Elmira Jackals/First Arena General Manager Robbie S. Nichols. He is a great team player and is always the first to stick up for the team. Even though he is not known for his goal scoring ability, fans will soon know him for his great one-two combination.

Brendan Tedstone is easily the biggest player in size the Jackals have signed for the upcoming season. At 64, 295 lbs, Tedstone brings quite literally a massive presence to the ice. The Hopkinton, Massachusetts native is a rookie, having played a total of 8 professional games over the past two years. The 36-year old played 3 games for the Richmond Riverdogs (UHL) in 2005-06, recording 27 penalty minutes. In 2004-05, Tedstone, also known as the Big Show, played 2 games for the Flint Generals (UHL) and 3 games for St. Hyacinthe Cousin (LNAH).
